Divine Mercy Image Coloring Page
Divine Mercy is a popular character among pantheists. It appears in many different religions, but in its most basic form, the concept is Christian. The idea behind this image coloring page is to celebrate the concept of mercy and the belief that God is just and that we have been given a great gift from Him. This is also one of the first cartoons that I can remember that involved a white background with black characters that are all looking down on a person who is basically a depiction of Jesus Christ. If you've never seen this particular drawing, I encourage you to take the time to look at them and to see how they affect you.
The drawing itself was created by Don Ed Hardy and is done in a very beautiful way. It has some sort of irregularity in the lines that he draws, and this gives it a very Christian feel. I have seen more modern renditions where the background is just as beautiful as the drawing. It really does grab your attention.
The colors that are used are rather unique as well. They are all done in shades of gray, which gives them a very realistic look. The colors are there for a reason and they add to the characters in a great way. There are other drawings that have similar shades and they're all done in much nicer style, but none compare to the ones that Hardy creates.
Divine Mercy is one of those pictures that a person can get really carried away with. There are a number of different images that can be placed onto a drawing. This allows several people to have a fun time creating their own version of Jesus. One of the advantages of using these images is that they are relatively simple to do. Hardy makes his choices very carefully so that the effect is very natural. This is not your run of the mill, cookie cutter type of drawing.
If you want to do something similar you might want to try tracing the image onto a blank piece of paper. You'll have to do this by making various different colored lines to form what is known as "shapes". One of the best parts about this type of drawing is that you can do it all by yourself!
Once you are happy with the image you have painted on a piece of cardboard cut out the shape of the drawing and tape it to the back of a piece of card board. Next, start adding the color. Hardy has said that you should use a very small brush to do this. The smaller the brush the better as the lines will be more defined. Start applying the black paint slowly as it will take quite some time to dry.
Once you are satisfied that your drawing looks good you should go back and highlight the areas of light yellow that are near the top of the image. Then do the same for the bottom of the image. Make sure when you highlight that you are doing this so that you aren't over doing it or washing out the original light yellow color that was in the center. When you are done with the drawing all you have to do is add a drop of white glue to the end of the image that is now known as the collar.
The last step is to trace around the edge of the collar on your white piece of paper. Once you are happy that your drawing is on a level surface repeat this process over. The design is going to need to be traced on a clean white piece of paper as it will allow you to see where you have been able to draw and continue this divine mercy devotional along side the image of Jesus. I am sure that after you have completed this task that you are now very excited to begin to draw this and share it with others.
